Former Federal Capital Territory Minister, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on Sunday emerged winner of the keenly contested Bauchi state governorship election.
Sen. Bala Mohammed who polled 449:723 votes on People’s Democratic Party (PDP) platform defeated incumbent Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of All Progressive Congress.
Gov. Mohammed Abubakar polled 441,216 votes.
By this victory, Sen. Mohammed,a prince in Duguri District, Alkaleri local government of Bauchi state has become the first Governor, whose genealogy can be easily traced.
He defeated incumbent Abubakar, a lawyer who was elected in 2015, with 8547 votes difference.
