A former Senator from Benue state, Professor David Iornem has appealed to the Benue people to come out enmass to vote for Governor Samuel Ortom in his re-election bid.

Professor Iornem, a Kaduna-based management consultant  and educationist said he was endorsing  Governor Ortom for re-election because of Ortom’s courage, innovation and selfless service.

Professor Iornem who represented Benue North East at the Red Chambers cited the introduction of ranching in Benue state as one of the courageous, innovative and progressive programmes of Governor Samuel Ortom.

Professor Iornem in a press statement made available to the Next Edition in Makurdi, said Ortom has done well and that he has the confidence that the Benue people will bring him back to office.

Iornem said Benue state is an agricultural state where unrestricted cattle movement and grazing can cause conflict between farmers and cattle rearers and hailed Ortom for taking steps to curtail the conflicts.

“This singular policy, which is capable of protecting both farmers and cattle rearers is enough for Benue people to re-elect Governor Ortom to continue as governor so as to enable him implement the anti open grazing law in the overall interest of Benue farmers and herdsmen,” he said.
