As the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue state perfect plans to receive its presidential candidate, Mohammadu Buhari in the state tomorrow, the Commissioner of Police in Benue state, CP Omololu Bishi said the command will deploy over 1000 policemen to ensure adequate security for all.
The APC in a press statement signed by the state 2019 APC Governorship Candidate, Hon. Emmanuel Liambee Jime states that President Buhari will be on official cum campaign visit to Benue on Wednesday, February 6, 2019.
The statement read, “On behalf of the All Progress Congress’s (APC) family in Benue state, I, Hon. Emmanuel Jime, the state’s APC 2019 Governorship standard bearer and my running mate, Barr. Sam Ode, heartily welcome the Commander- In-Chief of Nigeria’s Armed Forces and our political leader, President Muhammadu Buhari on this official cum campaign visit to Benue state, the Food Basket of the Nation.
“We wish to assure you and your entourage of a warm reception, as Benue is poised to treat you to the usual hospitality for which our people are famed throughout Nigeria”.
The party notes that the Benue people are not only excitedly anticipating the president’s visit, but that the visit has also leaped their passion for him.
Jime maintained that tge Benue APC and it’s teeming supporters remains committed to identifying and supporting his dreams of redeeming Nigeria through the developmental strides of his administration across the country.
While he reiterated the stands of Benue APC to stands with him “now and always; come rain, come sunshine”, Jime further thanked President Buhari for his efforts to rehabilitate some federal roads in the state.
“Our hearts are steeped in joy, over your approval of release of funds for the reconstruction of some federal roads in the state, abandoned over the years, like the Makurdi/Gboko/ Ugbema/ Katsina- Ala and the Makurdi/Naka/ Adoka roads”, he said.
Meanwhile, speaking to journalists, concerning the President’s visit, CP Bishi said about 1000 police officers will be deployed to the Aper Aku Statdium, venue for the rally to ensure a hitch free campaign.
He appealed to Benue residents to cooperate with the police and bear with the inconveniences that may arise as some commercial areas in Makurdi, god dress capital, may be closed to allow for free flow of movements.
“We are ready for the President’s visit tomorrow. We have receive an advanced party and we are strategizing with other security agencies.
“We want to ensure that everything goes well. We want to make sure that we don’t have any ugly incident or any form of trouble on our table.
“Areas we have noticed that may have too much human activities to obstruct movement, we may have to close down commercial activities of that area for that day so that we can have a very hitch free visit to the state”, he added.
