The Presidential candidate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his Running mate, Mr. Peter Obi have been urged to move faster to assuage   opposition  within the rank of the South East Governors and the party’s stakeholders in the zone.
Ndigbo Unity Assembly ( NUA) after their general meeting in Abakiliki,  Ebonyi State capital however, frowned at the opposition of the emergence of Mazi Peter Onwubuasi Obi, the former Governor of Anambra State as the Vice-Presidential Candidate of Atiku in the 2019 general election.
The group lauded PDP family and the Presidential Candidate for the choice of an illustrious son of Igbo in the person of Mazi Peter Onwubuasi Obi, a two time Governor of Anambra State.
In the communique released to newsmen in Onitsha, Anambra State weekend and signed by their Nationsl National President, Dede Uzor A. Uzor, the group said the emergence of Atiku and Obi was a clear indication that PDP was prepared to retake Aso Rock comes February 2019.
They said the emergence of Obi will give confidence to Nigerians to vote PDP because the combination of Atiku and Obi will take Nigeria to  political and economic Eldorado.
Obi as a two time Governor of Anambra State, said the group, who performed creditably well can help the President turn Nigeria around if they are elected.
“As an alma mater of Harvard University, Oxford University with huge experience in business, Obi will help to restore the lost  confidence in Nigeria. NUA unanimously endorse the candidature of Atiku and Obi” said NUA.
They  urged Ndigbo in Igbo land, outside and their friends to massively vote for Atiku and Obi in February 2019 general election.
The group decried the attitude of some elements in Igbo land who queried the emergence of Obi as Atiku’s Running mate, stressing that they should tender an unreserved apology within 14 days of the publication of this story or they would be regarded as an outcasts.
“Their action was a taboo. They offended the spirit of Igbo land. They also offended the spirits of our fore fathers. And they should be appeased inline with Igbo culture and tradition. The Igbo  spiritual leaders: bishops and leaders of traditional religious groups should cleanse all of them involved in the opposition”NUA said.
The group however advised Obi to as a matter of urgency initiate reconciliation meeting with the South East Governors and PDP leaders in the zone to ensure seamless campaign in the area that will ensure massive support and votes from Ndigbo in 2019  election.
NUA asked Atiku/Obi campaign team to create a high-level and strong network with the South South, South West, North Central, North East even North West to clinch unanimous victory during the election.Dede Uzor advised
