Sallah: FRSC Records Six Crashes, Three Deaths In Benue

Mr David Mendie, the Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) has said the Benue command recorded three deaths and six crashes and in the Sallah Special Patrol.

Speaking with 247ureports on their activities during the Sallah break, in Makurdi, Wednesday, Mandie said 54 lives were saved while 26 perons were injured.

According to him, 319 motorists were arrested and convicted by a mobile court  for committing various traffic offences.

Mendie said the mobile court session was the second since the commencement of Special Sallah Patrol in the state.

He said 319 motorists were tried for violating traffic rules out of  a total number of 344 offences and they were found guilty.

The offences as shown in the report of operation ranged from non-installation of Speed Limiters, non-possession of Driver’s Licence and dangerous driving.

“A total of 344 motorists were found guilty but 319 were tried and all were convicted.

Recall that the FRSC in Benue had deployed 134 personnel to ensure smooth traffic during the Eid-El-Kabir celebration.

The Sector Commander has told this medium earlier that the FRSC is determined to ensure a free-flow of traffic in the state at all times.
