Darazo United Football club of Bauchi State has Won Economic Community of West African States Governor Youth Football Tournament Cup after defeating Ghana team 2-1 in Accra Ghana.
Publicity Secretary of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSSON) Bauchi State Chapter Alhaji Bala Hussaini DDK disclosed this while speaking with reporters in Bauchi.
He said Six countries participated in the tournament that included Nigeria, Benin Republic , Ghana da Togo , Burkina Faso and Ivory coast.
Bala said the teams were divided in to two Ghana and Nigeria played the Final of the match and Nigeria defeated Ghana two goals while Ghana scored lone goal.
He said both teams played peacefully and the tournament was organized in collaboration with Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria while the Bauchi State Contingent was sponsored by Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar through the Ministry of Sports and Ministry for Local Government.
Spokesman of YSSON Bauchi said the teams made Nigeria and Bauchi proud and they will represent Nigeria in the World competition in Dubai before the year runs out.
He thank the State Governor Abubakar for sponsoring the team and urged him to do more considering the importance of sports in inculcating love unity and discipline among youths across the country.
He said Darazo United represented Nigeria after they won the State Governors Cup Competition that was played by the 20 local government areas of the State.
Bala said the State Commissioner For Local Government received the trophy on behalf of Governor Abubakar and commended the team for making the State and Nigeria Proud he thanked the State Chairman of YSSON Justice Habibu Idris Shall for leading the team well and urged them to maintain the tempo so that they will win the world trophy and assured them of government support always.
