Suspected Armed Fulani militia have invaded Tseadough, a village in Mbachom, Yaav Ward council of Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State and kidnapped a pregnant woman, killed seven children and injuried six others.

The armed Fulani militias were said to have invaded the community at about 12am Sunday, burnt down several houses and took a pregnant  woman from the village captive.

The Chairman, Kwande Local Government Council, Terdoo Nyor Kenti who is the chief security officer of the area confirmed the attack on phone in Makurdi.

He said the armed militia stormed the village at about midnight while the people were asleep and opened fire and shot sporadically in all directions, killing seven people, injuried six and took a woman captive.

According to him, “Seven people were killed in the end, six others were injured while the herdsmen also went away with a woman after burning several houses in the area.

“We gathered that the attack which occurred early hours of Sunday has left several villagers moving out of the area and surrounding villages in droves for fear of another invasion by the attackers.

“There was no prior problem between the villagers and the Fulani herdsmen, so l  wondered why the attackers would just come and swoop on these people without any provocation”.

Efforts to get the state Police Command to speak on the matter failed as calls put to the mobile phone line of the Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni were neither picked nor returned at the time of filing this report.
