Confederation of African Athletics, CAA has confirmed that the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, would be a suitable venue for the 2018 African Senior Athletics Championship scheduled to hold from August 1-5, 2018 in Asaba, Delta State.

A team of CAA led by its vice president, Gungaram Gerard Vivian and Lamine Faty, Chief Executive Officer of the African Athletics body who were on an inspection visit to the venue, expressed satisfaction with the facility on ground, confirming Nigeria’s readiness for the biennial championship.

The vice president however, called on the Head of Technical for Asaba 2018, Yussuf Alli and his team to hasten work in some few areas still lacking.

On his part, the Local Organising Committee LOC Chairman, Solomon Ogba thanked the CAA officials for the visit and assured that the Delta State Government is leaving no stone unturned in making Asaba 2018 a memorable one.

“I must say the Governor is personally interested in this project and he has been giving us all the support needed, Asaba 2018 will bring lasting legacies to Delta State” he assured.
