Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has directed all his appointees interested in running for the 2019 elections to resign before the end of May or risk being sacked.

The Governor who stated thus in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase says the decision is to give the affected appointees enough time to concentrate on their campaign programmes.

Ortom said their resignation will also pave way for others to assume such positions and contribute their quota to the development of the state.

Governor Ortom, in the latter, also directed the suspension of the proposed privatisation of government enterprises.

He explained that the decision to suspend the privatisation process is in respect of the concerns expressed by the people of the state regarding the development.

The Governor who reiterated that his administration will always lead according to the wishes and aspirations of the people said he will make further consultations with stakeholders before deciding on the next line of action in the best interest of the state.
