FRSC @ 30: FRSC Lauds, Awards Staff for Excellent Performance

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Benue State Command has applauded its personnel for their support and positive contributions to its roads safety successes in the last 30 years.
The Sector Commander, David Mendie made the commendation while presenting award to some of his staff , on behalf of the Corps Marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, on Wednesday in Makurdi.
Mendie said the two categories of award; Road Safety Service Star Award and Silver Service Award, was a national award and meant to recognize officers and marshals who have toiled and have performed excellently in their duties since their employment.
He recalled that before the establishment of FRSC in 1988, traffic situation in Nigeria could be described as very chaotic with a high rate of road traffic crashes resulting in human and material losses.
He said the staff honoured have shown zeal and determination in ensuring that road traffic offences were arrested and road crashes reduced in line with the mission of the Corp.
While commending his staff for their dedication to duty, Mendie who was also recignized at the zonal level with “Road Safety Leadership Service Award”, said “I appreciate all staff and special Marshals of the command for their selfless service these past years’’ just as he encouraged them to do more.
Some officers who got the star award include Deputy Corps Commander, DCC Solomon Agure, DCC Celestine Anzewu, Assistant Corps Commander, ACC Sabo Maigari, ACC Ioryina Iorbee, ACC Onazi Madukwe, ACC Enoidem Abel, ACC Jimba Adebayo while Chief Route Commander, CRC Jibrin Okolofo, Suprentendent Route Commander, SRC Williams Buba Manga and Deputy Route Commander, DRC Oluremi Samuel Ogunjinmi.
Some of the staff were also given commendation letters for outstanding performance in the month of March. They include DRC Adetunji Obasanmi, DRC Peter Olayemi, SMI Peter Moses and RMAI Godson Twar.
Speaking on behalf of the awardees, DCC Solomon Agure thanked Corps Marshal, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi for recognizing them for the award.
Agure who thanked God for preserving them lamented that most of their colleagues have died in the line of duty but God has preserved them.
He therefore called on his colleagues to redouble their efforts at work so as to save more lives on Nigerian roads.
