Kwankwaso’s Man Friday Arrested For Terrorism

More huddles are mounting on the way to Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s presidential ambition as one of his pointmen and former Commissioner for Water Resources, during his second tenure as Governor of Kano state, Dr. Yunusa Adamu Dangwani, was on Tuesday arrested by security agencies at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport (MAKIA) while trying to board an aircraft to Saudi Arabia.
247ureports gathered from reliable security sources that Dangwani was picked over his alleged involvement in a grand plot to bomb schools and markets in Kano.
According to the security source, Dr. Dangwani was bundled to Abuja Wednesday morning by security agents for further interrogation.
His arrest followed a confessional statement by one Captain Umar Abdullahi (rtd).
The source further revealed that, “last week, one Captain Umar Abdullahi (rtd), posing as a Boko Haram chieftain sent a text message to a top government official, threatening to bomb Kano markets and schools.
“In that text message which was written in Hausa, Captain Umar further threatened to reduce Kano to the level of troubled nations like Somalia. He claimed that the Boko Haram insurgents of whom he is one of the leaders, have concluded plans to disrupt commercial and social activities in the state with the intention of make the state ungovernable.”
According to the source, a combined team of police and DSS detectives trailed and arrested Captain Umar Abdullahi, following details from a communication company.
“Upon interrogation, Captain Umar Abdullahi revealed that Dr. Dangwani sponsored the text message with a price of N1.5 million.
“We investigated Captain Umar Abdullahi’s account and discovered that somebody very close to Dr. Dangwani actually credited his account with N1.5 million,” the source added.
The source further stated that, “as I am speaking with you now, Dr. Dangwani is going through serious interrogation in Abuja and I believe he is divulging information that will help the security get to the root of the matter.”
