General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has expressed the conviction that those behind the carnage on People of the State would certainly attract God’s wrath.
Pastor Adeboye stated this, yesterday, when he visited Governor Samuel Ortom to condole with him and the entire people of the state over the killings in the state since New Year day.
Adeboye prayed for peace and prosperity to return to Benue and Nigeria just as he prayed God to intervene in the security challenge to end the blood spilling across the country.
Accompanied by his wife, Pastor Adeboye prayed God to fight the battle on behalf of Benue people saying God is the helper of the helpless. “Men can hide from men but can not hide from God. With God on our side victory is certain”, he added.
“Even if we are in pain, hallelujah is a victorious sound. I’m not here to make any political statement because I’m not a politician. I’m here just to pray. The Governor is my son, his wife is my daughter, I can’t hear that my children are in trouble and seat at home. I would have been here earlier but I was praying at home and guided not to come before the president.”
The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God also said evil doers can hide from men but cannot hide from God stressing that God’s holiness cannot be compromised.
“Men can be corrupted, they can decide to do what is not hundred percent correct with the assistance of others but there is no way you can compromise the holiness of God”.
Earlier, Gvernor Ortom had explained that 16 out of the 23 local government areas in Benue have been taken over by militia herdsmen and expressed the hope that the visit of the Founder of the RCCG would engender healing and end the killings.
Ortom said over 170,000 persons were staying in nine Displaced Persons camps, adding that over 130 persons have been killed by militia herdsmen since the beginning of the year.
He also called on those who has the responsibilities of securing lives and property in the state to rise to their responsibilities.
