Your PVC Is Your Power, Group Tells Imo People

A group known as the Association of Imo State Indigenous Town
Unions, has called on the people of Imo State to register in the ongoing voters registration exercise and obatin their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs), saying that their power lies in their PVCs.
The group disclosed this in a press release signed by Chief Emeka Diwe, President, and Chief Monday Ikokwu,
Secretary, respectively, and obtained by this medium in Owerri, reminding the people that their PVCs is their power.
“We also wish to appeal to our people to make good use of the opportunity presented by the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration Exercise to goย and register and obtain their PVC.
“Your PVC is your power”, the group said, adding: “In compliment to [the] good job of INEC, Imo State, we wish to direct all the elected town union Presidents-General in the various autonomous communities in the state to intensify efforts in mobilising all the registerable adults in their communities to go to the INEC Registration Centres in their Wards or their Local Government Headquarters as the case may be, to register”.
They also “commend the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Imo State, Prof. Emeka Ezeonu, and his team, for carrying the grassroots and the Imo voting populace along in the activities and programmes of INEC in the state”.
According to them: “This is evident in the ongoing tour of the LGAs in the state where the REC meets with the Stakeholders in Town Hall meetings, sensitising them on the programmes of the INEC in the state and raising their consciousness to their civic responsibilities”.
