Killer Corp Arrested, Faces Dismissal

Loading ...It was black Friday in Okwelle, Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State as a trigger happy police officer, Sergeant Abu Item, gunned down a 20 years old tipper conductor,Ifeanyi Okafor, for failing to offer him N100 bribe.
But the Commissioner of Police in Imo State, Chris Ezike, has said that Sergeant Abu Item has been arrested and AK47 recovered from him.
It was also said he could be dismissed in few days to come to pave the way for his prosecution.
The police officer who is a Sergeant, from Cross Rivers State, was posted to the Okwelle Police Station. He was reported to have demanded N500 from the driver but the conductor informed him that what they has was N100.
Infuriated with the offer of N100 the Sergeant said to have fired directly at the conductor, cutting him short in his prime.
The murderous Sergeant ran away for fear of being lynched by the mob, but he was caught.
No one was able to speak on the matter when 247ureports visited the Police Station on Saturday, but residents in the area said the Sergeant was in the habit of intimidating commuters and extorting them.
An elderly man told our correspondent that he had personally warned the police officer to be careful the way he was behaving.
