Edo LG Election: Beware Of Idahosa, Former Oshiomohle’s Aide Warns Candidates
Former Senior Special Assistant on inter party relations to the immiadiate past governor of Edo state, Adams Oshiomhole, has warned councillorship candidates of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Uhunmwode local government area of Edo state to refrain from attending meeting in the residence of Charles Idahosa, one of the leaders of the party.
He, however, urged the would be councillors to rather key into the policies of Governor Godwin Obaseki led administration to take development to the door step of the people.
In a statement the former governor’s aide signed in Abuja on Thursday, said the best way to liberate Uhunmwode local government chapter of APC from from ‘bondage’ is to emulate the governor.
“He will Bull and shout at you, as if he has powers to determine your political future. Such meetings in the past has been used to create fears and intimidation into elected Local government officials.
“They should rather use their time in a productive ventures by arming themselves with necessary tools to take up leadership to bring about vibrancy in the Legislative Arm of the Local government. You therefore need to be very bold, strong and courageous as the people expect so much from you to bring about radical revolution.
The APC chieftain also urged the incoming councillors to make-up their minds and work for the development of the LGA, instead of allowing god fatherism to succeed.
“They must be united for development and resist any attempt to take the Local Government back to the dark days where he used to unilaterally determine how the Local government Allocation is shared in his sitting room for his personal benefit against the developmental needs of the people.
“It is a known fact that, out of the 774 local government in Nigeria, Uhunmwode occupy the least position in terms of development,of which Charles Idahosa as a former two term Chairman and a Leader of the ruling party since 1989, has led the Local government to this poor state of development.”
