The group said that the recent proscription of Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB) by the Nigerian Army was not only ignoramus but lack of knowledge of relevant laws governing the United Nations (UN) Charter which Nigeria was signatory, saying that Nigeria has no locus standi to proscribe an organization she did not register on the first instance.

Recall that the Nigeria Army had few days ago proscribed IPOB as a terrorist organization and sent some troops under ‘Operation Python Dance II’ to South East o dismantle members of IPOB for agitating for freedom of Biafrans, the soldiers had within few hours of the order proceeded to Abia state and launched a ferocious attack against members of IPOB and subsequently invaded Nnamdi Kanu’s home at Afara Ibeku Umuahia, Abia state where some IPOB members were allegedly killed.

In a communique issued after its emergency meeting held in Enugu and signed by its National Publicity Secretary Mr. Dede A. Uzor stated that the proscription by the Nigerian Army against the members of IPOB was despotic in all ramifications and Nigeria have proved to the world that she lacked the necessary diplomatic prowess to handle domestic and internal security challenges confronting her by using brutal force against its fellow citizens.

The communiques read in part: “That Nigeria has no locus standi to proscribe an organization she did not register on the first instance.  That the CD frowned at the lack of diplomacy by the federal government to handle internal such controllable security challenges inview of the ongoing war in Northeast zone of the country against members of Boko Haram insurgence, the inability of the federal government to diplomatically resolve the Boko Haram at the inception of the crisis has led to monumental loss of over 25,000 lives and properties what over N6 trillion when the federal government intentionally and brutally murdered the leader of the group”.

“That the killing of unarmed and defenceless Nigeria civilians by the Army amounts to crime against human and we call for investigation by ICC hence President Buhari had during one of his oversea travel thrown support to successionist North African State of Southern Sahara who are seeking  independent from Morroco.  That the continued occupation of South Eastern Nigeria by Nigerian Army are totally unacceptable and condemned”.

“That the IPOB has constitutional right to seek for self rule since Nigeria also got her independent through self rule and agitation from British government .
That UN Charter encourages Indigenous people in any part of the world  who wish to go on their separate ways or seek independent inline with UN Charter and other International laws to conduct its activities peacefully without taken up arms within the International frame work via conduct of referendum that will be supervised by International community”.

“That the use of fire arms (lives bullet) under obnoxious and abolished “Rule of Engagement” against unarmed members of IPOB by the Nigerian Army calls for discreet and unbiased investigation by the International community while the perpetrators should be fish out and punished accordingly. That the position of South East governors and Ohanaeze Ndigbo not to conduct their activities and let IPOB operate in their respective states amounts to human rights violations inline with chapter 4 in subsection 33 to 41 of 1999 constitution as amended”.

“We call on the respective houses of the State Assemblies to commence the process of impeaching their governors without further delay for gross misconduct and abuse of office. We finally demand that the UN. USA Canadian Prime Minister, French Prime Minister, UK Prime minister and other world leaders  to set up special investigation team to probe the President Buhari led regime since this regime comes onboard over atrocious human rights violations” CD stated.
