The leadership of Ndi-Igbo in Germany has decried what it saw as military invasion of southeastern Nigeria .
The association said that the occupation of the Igbo region of the country by the Nigerian army and in whatever guise was undemocratic , unconstitutional as well as against the fundamental human rights of the citizens .
In accordance with the resolutions of the association , signed by the coordinator Peter Chukwuma Eze , Ndigbo in Germany note with grave concern the invasion of the Igbo territory of South-Eastern Nigeria by the fully armed military of the Federal Republic of Nigeria .
It said that Ndigbo abroad have taken cognizance of the provocation, intimidation, brutalization and killings of the civilian population of largely igbo extraction by the fully armed military of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the South-Eastern part of the country .
The association therefore demanded that the Federal Government explain the exact nature and reason behind the ongoing military occupation of the southeast tagged “Python Dance 2 ” insisting that the government of the federation should make its position clear and not sit on the fence.
Ndigbo in Germany however called for an investigation by the International Criminal Court of Justice into what it termed dictatorial and undemocratic use of the military against Ndigbo and other Nigerians .
They also demanded that all relevant organs in the international community play their part in preventing a chain of events that could eventually lead to widespread breakdown of peace in the entire West African sub-subregion which it reasoned may cause untold deaths, displacements and suffering all over Nigeria and may trigger the largest scale of refugee crisis in the region .
The association unanimously called on the international community to come to the rescue of those it termed ethnic communities being allegedly slaughtered under the incumbent federal government .
