The upcoming gubernatorial election in Anambra State on November 18, 2017 may become the historic election to go down in the history books judging by the tension brewing within the polity. Information available 247ureports.com indicates that the various involved parties in the election have resolved to win the gubernatorial election exercise by “any means necessary”, particularly, the national ruling party, the All Progressive Congress [APC] have reportedly concluded on the conduct of the gubernatorial election, and its plot to rig the outcome.

As a caveat, the outcome of the APC primary election which saw the emergence of the political godson [Tony Nwoye] of the oil mogul billionaire, Sir Arthur Eze came as a result of heavy spending of cash resources by the oil mogul to the tune of N1.76billion – to outspend the Trillionaire Senator from Uga, Senator Andy Uba for the gubernatorial slot. According to a competent source who spoke to our correspondent in Awka, Arthur Eze had promised each delegate exorbitant sums of money in exchange for their votes at the primary election of the APC. “He simply outspent Andy” said the source who explained that Arthur Eze was in London on the day the primary election was conducted in Awka. He was in London to finalize on the sum of money to be paid him by Shell. Our source put the sum of the money at $656million.

With the receipt of the money from Shell, the oil mogul is reported to tell his colleagues that the Anambra State gubernatorial election to be a foregone issue. “We will write the result” says our source in quoting the oil mogul who boasts that there will not be an election in Anambra. The election will be done the way elections were normally done back in the days, says the source. The oil mogul states he has earmarked over N10billion for the gubernatorial election.

In talking with a member of the Tony Nwoye camp, he assured that “victory was just around the corner”. He indicated that APC had the highest number of registered members in Anambra State. “We 1.3million registered members in Anambra”. He stated that the youths of Anambra are excited about the emergence of Nwoye – and have organized themselves into a volunteer force of over 60,000 working for his campaign.Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the APC in Anambra failed as he did not respond to calls placed to his phone.

Interestingly, a source within the security apparatus in Abuja told 247ureports.com that the President of the federal republic of Nigeria had instructed the security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] to ensure the gubernatorial election is conducted without irregularities. “I did not want this election rigged”, claims the sources in quoting the President. According to the security source, the President holds a soft-spot for the Governor of Anambra State – and believes the Governor to have performed above average. For this reason, the President believes the Governor should be allowed a free and fair election.
