….Says Obi should berry his face in shame over abandon projects
The war of words between the former Governor Mr. Peter Obi and incumbent governor of Anambra state Chief Willie Obiano have continued as the National Coordinator of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Warriors Forum Mr. Chinedu Obigwe has described the attack by Obi as malicious, falsehood and concocted blackmail.
Obigwe while reacting to statement credited Obi’s spokesman Mr. Valentine Obienyem condemned the allegations raised as misleading, misinformation and baseless, describing him as a greedy and desperate political business merchant whose stock in trade is blackmail and falsehood.
He stated that for the benefit of the discerning public that Mr Peter Obi handover note contains more questions that is in dire need of answers, for example, he said that in Peter Obi’ s handover note that he claimed that his administration invested N 3.5billion in Sabmiller breweries whereas a painstaking investigation revealed that he only invested N1.9billion in the company.
He reeled out Mr Peter Obi alleged lies to include Relocation of 50percent of Awka electricity project to Aguleri, Relocation of Awka township stadium to Aguleri, Abandoned projects, Construction of falling flyovers at Awka, Signing of 100MOU that are not functional.
Obigwe said the whole content of Peter Obi’s press statement can best be described as a politically motivated moonlight tales that can only fly against Governor Obiano in his warped imagination.
He said that Governor Obiano deserve commendations for making Anambra the safest State in Nigeria, stating that the people of the State were interested in the provision of security in the State because security remains the bedrock of sustainable development and that no amount of money is too big for the maintenance of security of lives and properties.
Obigwe faulted Peter Obi’s claim that Governor Obiano’s administration signed 100MOU that is non functional using the Stanel group of companies at Awka that is now the largest employer of labour at the Capital city as one of the example of Governor Obiano’s administration functional MOU. He also said that Coched farm, Excel farm, Delfarm and the booming Roban stores are other evidence of Governor Obiano’s administration functional MOU.
He also said that the Agulu lake Hotel project is seriously ongoing and that the Contractors handling the project will likely hand it over to the State government before the November 18th election for commissioning.
Obigwe also faulted Mr Peter Obi abandoned project claim saying that most of the project inherited by Governor Obiano’s administration have been completed.
He reeled out the projects abandoned by Obinand completed/ nearing completion by Obiano to include Onitsha Shoprite, Agulu teaching hospital, Reconstruction of Ekwulobia Ezinifite road that was 85percent completed by Governor Obiano, Construction of isulo -school of the blind, deaf and dumb, isulo road, 50percent completed by Governor Obiano’s administration, Construction of Ndiokwu-Amikpa-Oki umuchu road nsogwu umunze road , 59.2 percent completed by Governor Obiano’s administration, Construction of Oye Neni-Adazi nnukwu -Akwaeze-igboukwu road, 60percent completed by Governor Obiano’s administration.
Others include FGC, Nise Road/Akabo mbaukwu haba river -ukunu junction, 50percent completed by Governor Obiano’s administration, Rehabilitation of Umunamehi road ihiala, 70percent completed by Governor Obiano’s administration. Construction of Aguiyi by-pass (Agulu nwanchi-obeledu-Neni road), 60percent completed by Governor Obiano’s administration, Construction of kisa bridge Nteje umunya -umudioka road , 40percent completed by Governor Obiano’s administration, Reconstruction of goodwill road okpuno Awka, 60percent completed by Governor Obiano’s administration, Reconstruction of Enugu/Anambra State boundary Agu Awka road, 90percent completed by Governor Obiano’s administration, Reconstruction of Nkitaku -Obe-Comprehensive health facility, Anambra State university teaching hospital road Agulu (linking Amoji, Nneoha and odidima) 60percent completed by Governor Obiano’s administration, etc.
Obigwe said that in totality Governor Obiano inherited 97 road projects from Peter Obi and completed 45, saying that the Governor also initiated many road projects and that some of them have been completed.
He showered praises on Governor Obiano for disappointing Mr Peter Obi in the interest of the people of the State and assured him that the people of the State will use their voting strength to shame his detractors.
