The Association of Medical and Pharmaceutical Products Dealers (AMPPDO) otherwise known as Bridgehead Drug Market (Ogbogwu) Onitsha, Anambra state have declared their support for Governor Willie Obiano reelection bid for the November 18governorship election.
The Union members who said that Obiano will emerged victoriously at the poll due to his laudable achievement in the past four years and cannot be matched by other candidates from other political parties, urging well meaning Anambraians to support Obiano to consolidate on his preformance.
Loading ...The Chairman of the association, Mr. Uchenna Eze who gave the assurance yesterday at the union’s secretariat, Onitsha, said they were aligning themselves to Prof. Charles Soludo’s recent view that there is no need to change a winning team.
He noted that for now, Obiano is primus interpares (first among equals) in the line up churned out by various political parties.
According to Eze, “First of all, I commend all the political parties in the state for conducting free, fair, peaceful and rancour-free primary elections that produced their various flag bearers and we don’t want a chaotic situation during the general election”.
“In my view and that of my members, I will say Obiano has performed well and it is ideal to return him for second tenure. Like Soludo said, I align myself with him that there is not need to change a winning team. I am optimistic that he will be returned for doing well and there is not need changing him. I like to identify with his successes for performing marvelously well”.
“He has performed creditable well in every sector. His performances are unprecedented in the annals of market development in the state to the extent that he even gave out N10 million to markets for market projects. No other governor has ever done anything close to this. He has a wonderful relationship with markets and their executive. He is prompt in assistance and that is why I said that the pendulum is swinging towards him”.
“Let Anambra people vote without external interference. I am not in support of IPOB’s call to boycott election in the state. I would not subscribe to a state of anarchy should the election fail to hold on the scheduled date. If the election fails the federal government has the constitutional powers to appoint a Sole Administrator from anywhere without”.
“Let INEC revalidate the voters cards to ensure that every body has the card and power to vote because without the cards, you have not powers”.
While speaking on fake drugs within the market, Eze noted that he has a lucid evidence to back up his claims that fakery has reduced to the barest minimum in the market, as one of the primary assignments of his executive”.
