Information available to 247ureports.com indicates that the recently concluded Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] primary election in Anambra State may have troubles lingering resolved. This is as available information revealed that the Governor Of Ebonyi State, Mr. Omahi was engaged in a fisticuffs with members of the PDP Anambra Caretaker committee over the choice of delegate list to use for the primary election.
It was reliably gathered that the Governor Of Ebonyi who is not familiar with the identities of the delegates was said to be acting on behalf of the former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi’s instruction. Omahi was reported to have dragged on the the executive members of the caretaker committee in Anambra out of the conference room solely because he questioned the delegate list presented by Omahi. According to our source, “He tore the cloths of Okey Omeyi and pushed him out of the room“. Interestingly, Okey Omeyi happens to be a classmate of Peter Obi at University Of Nigeria Nsukka [UNN]. He is also a relative to Sen. Ben Obi, the national PDP secretary.
247ureports.com gathered that Okey was not in support of the manufactured delegate list – and the attempt by Peter Obi to hijack the process. It was through this that Peter Obi instructed the governor of Ebonyi State to eject him out of the voting arena. The governor of Ebonyi personally dragged Okey out of the arena, promising to command security me to manhandle him if he insists on being part of the process.
Following thuggish brawl, the supposedly doctored delegate list was used. This came against protests by the other aspirants who also called out the Governor of Ebonyi State on his partial stance. At the commencement of the voting exercise, virtually all of the aspirant left the venue in protests, some actually withdrew from the process in protest. The voting ended without vote of thanks or closing prayer.
Our source reveals that none of the legislator both local and national attended the primary election except for Hon. Ben Nwankwo – who our source states was given the sum of N6million by Peter Obi for his appearance. No other elected officials both former and present attended the primary election. And it is immediately certain why their boycotted the event.
Further investigation uncovered that about forty [40] names list on the delegate list were people bused in from Kogi State. According to the information uncovered, the 40 persons were paid N45,000 each with a promise to pay the remainder of N55,000 after the election. And they were given Igbo-sounding names with which they will vote with at the primary election. They did as were told. But the remainder of the money promised them remains unpaid. For this reason, the group of 40 have come out in the full open to expose the fraud. The group of 40 is said to be ready to testify in court. They claim to have identification and documentation that proves they are indigenes of Kogi State.
The latest development has thrown the PDP in Anambra into turmoil. The grassroots members of the PDP appear to have turned their backs on the party primary election – citing that the APGA coalition has hijacked the PDP in State. Ifeanyi Uba, one of the aspirants, is reported to be headed for the courts. It is uncertain what effect the latest development would have on the November 18, 2017 elections.
