The South East Governors’ Forum has called on the people of the zone
to disregard the false information circulating in the social media
alleging that the extraordinary meeting with some selected
stakeholders of Igbo extraction slated to hold Saturday, 1st July,
2017 at the Nike Lake Hotel, Enugu has been postponed, describing the
rumour as false and unfounded.
Chairman of the forum and Ebonyi state governor, Chief David Umahi
said the meeting with the Igbo stakeholders still holds tomorrow, as
planned and called on the general public not to be misinformed by
those he described as disgruntled elements.
Umahi further maintained that the extraordinary meeting with the
selected Igbo leaders is to chart a new cause for Igbo agenda, adding
that those who circulated the false information were the real enemies
of Ndigbo and should be ignored while calling all the invited guests
to disregard the information.
The Forum further disclosed that there is no change on the date, time
and venue of the meeting, noting that the meeting will start by 7pm at
the conference hall at the Nike Lake hotel, Enugu and warned those
using social media to misinform the public to desist from such act.
He urged all invited stakeholders to be seated by 6.30 while assuring
that the South East Governors’ Forum has put everything in place to
ensure safety of the people coming for the meeting.
