Margaret Emefiele, the wife of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, has been freed.
According to reports, the abductors let her go early on Saturday, October 1, 2016.
The Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris had earlier deployed helicopters to comb the Benin-Agbor road for Mrs. Emefiele.
She was kidnapped along that axis on Thursday, September 29, 2016.
It is not clear whether the abductors got any ransom before they released her.
They had demanded for a ransom of N1.5b for her freedom.
Meanwhile, security experts have described the kidnap of the CBN Governor’s wife as an embarrassment.
