THE National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC would be meeting on Tuesday October 25 to take decisive stand on the crisis rocking the party in Delta State and sanction erring members of the state chapter of the party.

Making the disclosure yesterday, a member of the NWC who spoke on condition of anonymity stated that the meeting is specifically convened to take decisions on the report of the disciplinary committee in respect of the Okpozo led Elders and Leaders group who purportedly set up an illegal parallel State Exco in Delta following recommendation by the State executive disciplinary committee.

The meeting is coming just as the national chairman of the party in a last minute move, has reached out to the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachikwu his planned October 22 meeting with some stakeholders of the party, the same day the State executive of the party is having an expanded Exco meeting.

The APC in Delta State has been enmeshed in leadership tussle between Olorogun O’tega Emerhor and a group of party members loyal to second republic politician, Senator Francis Okpozo. The matter got complicated with the entry of Chief Great Ogboru of labour party and Hon Victor Ochei and their followers. This new groups are also scheming to benefit from the crisis by hijacking the leadership.
