Attack On APC Secretariat: Police Arrest Prime Suspect

Following the fatal clash rocking the Delta State All Progressives Congress (APC), which led to the attack on the state secretariat by some hoodlums, one Mr. Martins Nwokobia and some other suspects have been nabbed.

Speaking with our correspondent in a phone conversation, the state secretary of the party, Mr. Chidi Okonji who confirmed the attack on the secretariat some persons stormed the office with dangerous weapons and molesting anyone they found at sight.

He gave the names of those attacked as: Engr. Okwobi, Emmanuel Obayen, Mr. Fidelis Chibokwu and one Mr.  Alana were brutalized.

It was gathered that the suspects arrested are presently cooling off at the ‘A’ Division police station Asaba.

An eyewitness report said, the hoodlums at about 8:00am on Tuesday invaded the secretariat with horse whip flogging their victims.

It was also learnt that at the time the bandits stormed the secretariat, a disciplinary committee of the party set up by embattled Prophet Jones Erue, who was sacked by the court to try all those involved in anti-party activities were tried.

It is no longer news that APC has two factions, one led by Prophet Erue while the other is led by Okotie-Eboh.

Meanwhile, the Caretaker Committee set up to see to the welfare of the party has been summoned to Abuja for questioning.
