Kidnappers of Chief W.G Watson Iti, the father of the member representing Brass Constituency 2 in the Bayelsa state House of Assembly, Hon. Alfred Belimote Watson has demanded for the sum of N70million ransom for his release.

Confirming the development, the member of the State House of Assembly representing Brass Constituency 2,Hon. Belemote Watson Alfred, stated in a text message to journalists that “the ‎Kidnappers of my Dad called exactly 11.30pm with his own number requesting for a  ransom of 70million naira between now and Wednesday. ”

The incident,which occurred at about 9am on Saturday, has thrown the constituent of the State House of Assembly member into confusion with the State Leadership of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) apprehensive over the safety of the abducted Septegenerian.

It was gathered that the Septenegerian  was whisked away while on his way to Egweama community from Okpoama community in Brass Local Government Area of the state.

A family source revealed that “We heard he was on his way to bury his late wife, Mrs Comfort Watson, when the gunmen attacked their commercial speed boat and whisked him to an unknown destination.”

The Spokesman of the Bayelsa State Police Command, Butswat Asimin, who had confirmed the development said the command have mobilized the anti-kidnapping unit and other relevant security agencies”
