A mild drama ensued at the National Secretariat of ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday when youth who claimed they came from Bauchi State stormed the premises in protest for and against the Bauchi State Governor.
Bauchi State Governor was being expected at the National Secretariat along with the Bauchi State APC Chairman, but only the state Chairman came alongside other party executives.
The protest started as soon as the State Chairman arrived the party secretariat, one, Galadima Abba Ittas who claimed to be a youth leader led other fierce looking thugs chanting “bamu so bama so’ meaning we don’t want we don’t want”
Speaking to journalists Galadima said they are at the party secretariat to draw the attention of the party on the imminent collapse of the party in the state due to poor handling of affairs by the State Governor and the State Chairman.
Galadima added “Bauchi State Governor Mohammed Abubakar has failed, he cannot pay salary of workers and unable to pay pensioners. Most of his appointments are PDP members while the APC appointees are being removed, we are calling on the National Leadership to act fast by intervening in order to save Bauchi state from this debacle.
However, in what look like a turn of event, some of the thugs who were initially against the Bauchi state Governor suddenly turn in his support and started chanting Bauchi sai Barrister.
The atmosphere became charged as the chant of sai Barrister overshadowed the protest against him that started initially.
Investigation however revealed that some of the youth were sponsored to cause the expected governor embarrassment who unfortunately was not at the Secretariat.
It would be recalled that crisis recently rocked Bauchi state chapter of the APC with Speaker Yakubu Dogara, Education Minister Adamu Adamu, other legislators from Bauchi state and other party executives were at the party secretariat to report the State Governor to the National leadership of the party.
