All Progressives Congress (APC) has suggested that the only way out of the imbroglio rocking the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is to change the name and identity, mocking that it has become obvious that the umbrella is now only carcass.
Loading ...Speaking at the party’s headquarters in Abuja, a member of the APC Board of trustee, Olisaemeka Akamukale, urged the embattled party to imitate the style of the ruling party by overcoming its identity crisis, dismissing the insinuation that APC is fuelling the PDP rift.
Asked the truth in the claim that APC is behind the PDP crisis, he said: “It is always the norm for a bad workman to blame his tools. Alimodu Sheriff, was with APC before from the APP. We formed APC together but he was celebrated when he left APC to join PDP.
“Remember that he was given special escort to go to Maduguri. He was on his own when Governors Wike and Fayose pleaded with him to take the position. For anybody come around to claim that we are behind is economical with the truth.
“The problem with the PDP is that they always want to harvest where they did not sow. If PDP wants to succeed, they should go and look for their founding fathers. For me as an APC and a democrat, it is better for Nigeria to have a strong opposition.
“I laugh when people say that APC is benefiting from the PDP because we don’t the crisis in PDP to win landslide in 2019. “What I think PDP should do is to imitate the APC. They should allow the name PDP to die because Nigerians don’t want to hear, see or associate themselves with that name. That umbrella has turn. In fact, it is in carcass now. They should go back and form a new party not using wasted pipelines.
“Some of the persons that joined PDP are those rejected in APC, Modu Sheriff inclusive. They brought him for a purpose and thought they can use and dump him, it will not work,”
