Information reaching 247ureports.com indicates that there was another jailbreak attempt at Kuje Medium Prison early hours on Monday, leading to sporadic shooting by the officials of the prisons.
It will be recalled the prisons across the country have come under serious attacks leading to jail break in Enugu, Kogi, Kuje and others.
A reliable source told our correspondent that ”There is a lock down in the prison, prisons officials are throwing tear-gas at the inmates to cow them because of the last jail break.”
Some of the inmates complained that they were dying, as they spoke to correspondent saying “We do not know what they want to do with us, some people are on the ground now rolling and crying. There is no jail break, yet they woke up this morning to start shooting tear gas at us,” they added.
Efforts to speak with the prisons spokesman Francis Enobore proved abortive as calls put through to him were not answered.
