Kogi state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused the national chairman of the party, John Oyegun and other members of the National Executive Council (NEC) of collecting bribe from the incumbent governor of the state, Yahaya Bello.
Loading ...The state chapter of the party has been having unresolved crisis with the governor over political appointments made so far by the governor.
The state executives led by Sen. Dino Malaye stormed the national secretariat of the APC and demanded a closed door meeting with the national chairman.
While the meeting was going on, the APC Kogi state organising secretary, Isa Abubakar told newsmen in an interaction accused Chief Oyegun of betraying the late Abubajar Audu in favour of Yahaya Bello
He said: “Kogi APC Problem is not unlimited, the root cause of the problem is here at the National Secretariat. We have the hierarchy of operations. We have three arms of government; the Legislative, Judiciary and the executive. Kogi scenario lies in the hands of the State party executives.
“We are not discussing about Buhari, our own state government, they could have seek our consent before deliberating on our matter whereas they did it arbitrary because they have selfish interest and on this ground we say no.
“Look at the state of treasury, we know what happened to our treasury. One third of our treasury is taken to the National Secretariat, one third to Buhari wife and co and how can one third solve our problem in Kogi. And that is why Bello is there for their pockets to be full.
“The first motor the National Chairman is using Audu bought him for him, let him come down I would tell him to his hearing. The man that almost die Audu wake him up and is now paying us with bad coin.
“I want Channels, AIT to hear I want to talk to their hearing. If they allowed me inside the meeting, I will tell this to the chairman’s hearing. Yahaya Bello is bringing our money to the party, and it is the National Chairman that is chairing everything. I am naming names, get him, he will call the rest.
“The first thing our governor did was to demolish all the roundabout Audu built. He demolished it and he has not build anything.”
“We suffered and they are enjoying here, all of them here (Oyegun and others), nobody is exempted, I can speak to anybody hearing. I am a democrat, the APC National Chairman, was it not Audu that brought him in. The man that was almost in the grave that Audu wake him up. Audu wake him up say done die yet come, come the man is robbing us now,
“The primary we did, our 40% has not been giving all the 100%. Is all taking to the National Secretariat. I am the state Organising Secretary of the party, I am the party itself.
“Something is happening along the line, is like some of us we don’t have the manner to endure as such and that is politics and that is why they said we should go out first because our being there, it may not end well. But I told them, if I can trek to Jerusalem, Alhamdullah, what I want is to take Bello away and let democracy reign supreme.”
