The Governor of Enugu State, Governor Ifeanyi has received commendation for his handling, so far, of the sad incident of the attack on the Nimbo Community in Uzo Uwani Local Government Area of Enugu State by suspected herdsmen.
Loading ...The Chairman of Nkanu East Local Government Transition Council, Hon. Ikechukwu Ubagu, gave the commendation while speaking with newsmen at the Council Headquarters in Amagunze, Wednesday.
Hon. Ubagu who described the incident as very dastardly, said the people of Nkanu East were very satisfied with the empathy, maturity, and seriousness shown by the Government of Enugu State on the matter and commended the Council Chairman of Uzo Uwani, Hon. Colonel Onwubuya, for ensuring that the embittered people of his Council did not take laws into their hands.
He said: “The Governor has shown that the lives, security, and welfare of the people of Enugu State matter to him above everything else. I also believe that the efforts he is making now in consultation with all stakeholders in the State such as the political, traditional, security, and town union leaderships will yield lasting security in the State”.
Hon. Ubagu condoled with the people of Nimbo over the incident, urging Nigerians to pray for the peaceful repose of the dead and quick recovery of the wounded.
“Let us also pray along with the Enugu State Governor and support his efforts to bring succor and forestall such incidents in the Enugu State”, he added.
