Kano state governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje today (Monday) commissioned the multi million Naira reconstructed Abdullahi Bayero road in Kano metropolis.
Performing the function, Governor Ganduje and government embarked upon the project because of its dilapidation and strategic location, saying it is will ease the plight of commuters.
“Kano is now a mega city and for such places to thrive, you need good roads with culverts, street lights, pavements and other such facilities to facilitate movement of good and services”, the governor stated.
He stated that his administration is determined to provide new public infrastructure such as roads and upgrade existing ones not just to improve the welfare of the citizenry but also to attract foreign and international investors.
He, therefore urged prospective users of the commissioned road to ensure its durability, adding that it is also necessary for the citizens to pay taxes to enable the government executive more projects.
The governor also inspected Gidan Boss – Katsina road, dualization of Mobile Barracks – CBN Quarters – Zaria road and renovation of CBN Quarters – Kundila – Maiduguri road projects, being executed by the state government.
Governor Ganduje who expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done by the individual contractors urged them to sustain their commitment so that the projects can be completed as scheduled.
Meanwhile, governor Ganduje has inspected the on-going Erosion Control Project being executed the state government at the Nigerian Airforce Base in Kano.
