The internal crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC) is far from over as plot by some national leaders of the party to sack the incumbent national chairman, Chief John Odiege-Oyegun, seems to be gathering momentum.
Though there is no official statement yet confirming the latest but all the officials of the party were not ready to comment.

Already, it was reliably gathered that Chief Oyegun has been forced to proceed on a compulsory leave which may end his tenure as the pioneer chairman of APC.
A competent source revealed yesterday that decision for the chairman to proceed on leave was taken at a meeting of the national leaders of the party with the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Wednesday at the Villa.
It was also gathered that the deputy national chairman of APC from the South, Chief Segun Oni, may soon be announced as the acting national chairman but our correspondent who was at the party secretariat noticed a prolong meeting of some members of the National Working Committee (NWC) with the deputy national chairman (North) Senator Lawani Shuaibu.
The source said the plot to edge out chief Oyegun became necessary to save the party because not few prominent members were displeased with his style of leaderahip.
“You know some party leaders are no longer comfortable with Oyegun since the leadership crisis in the National Assembly started. More so, the party have been divided along old political parties that formed the APC, hence the national leaders felt something must be done to rescue the APC from total collapse.”
Another staff of the secretariat who does not want his name mentioned, said the national chairman has signed cheque for the staff salary before he embarked on the unannounced leave.
