Being an excerpt from the remarks of the Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Prince Uche Secondus at the Thanksgiving Service Organized in honour of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike in Port Harcourt on Sunday
The Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Prince Uche Secondus has said that Nigeria is dangerously sliding and wants the All Progressives Congress APC federal Government to genuinely engage Nigerians to achieve peace that brings development.
He said at the thanksgiving and reception of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike in PortHarcourt, Rivers state capital on Sunday that the ruling APC should address series of disturbing challenges in the land and stop abusing Nigeria Judiciary because it did not go their way way.
Prince Secondus, who led other members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to the ceremony, told the audience of top PDP leaders, including state governors and members of the National Assembly that Nigeria is sliding economically and politically with APC showing it has no solution in sight.
He noted that when APC took over power from the PDP seven months ago, the naira was exchanging for N160 to one dollar but noted that currently, the naira has suddenly dipped to N300 for a dollar under the APC government.
The PDP leader charged the APC to face reality and engage the various stakeholders, including business and political leaders to find a way out instead grandstanding that all is well.
Prince Secondus also described as dangerous to the polity, the continued abuse of judiciary and the use of military and other security agencies in purely political matters.
The PDP boss said that it has become vivid to all political watchers that PDP, even in opposition remains the largest party in Africa as indications has become very clear that APC is not a political party. He added that not even the harassment and persecution of its leaders would stop the party from providing a robust and constructive opposition.
