The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC may have to visit Taraba State treasury and Government House to carry out a thorough investigation on how the embattled Governor of the impoverished state, Darius Ishaku is channeling colossus amount of public funds to his private vault and partly to the PDP through the State Chairman of the party, Victor Bala.

247ureports has it on authority that on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at about 1600hrs, two cashiers from the Taraba State Government House under the watch of a Principal Accountant delivered a whooping sum of N150million to Victor Bala at his Jalingo residence suspected to be stolen funds from government coffers meant for delivery as bribe to judges at the Yola Federal Court Appeal and all those connected to the on-going case of eligibility against Darius Ishaku to contest the April 2015 gubernatorial election at the Appeal Court that has matured for judgment on January 25, 2016.
The embattled Darius according to his opponent of the APC, Senator Aisha Jummai Alhassan, was not duly elected by PDP delegates as a gubernatorial candidate but smuggled into the contest through the back door as characteristic of the PDP.
In its judgment, Taraba State Elections Petition Tribunal was convinced with facts at its disposal beyond reasonable doubt to have quashed the election of Darius Ishaku on lack of eligibility to have contested the April gubernatorial election which he challenged at the Federal Court of Appeal sitting in Yola, Adamawa State.
Fearing that the Appeal Court may not pass judgment in his favour, he is alleged to have resorted to offering gratification to influence the decision of the judges through his party’s state chairman, Victor Bala.
On Thursday, January 21, 2016 at about 1630hrs, another consignment of N150million of public funds sourced from the state treasury suspected to have been officially stolen was off-loaded in Victor Bala’s residence by one Adimbo and Bala for suspected disbursement to some of the compromised judges that are yet to embrace the anti-corruption war of the change mantra piloted by President Muhammadu Buhari. Conversant with the mode of EFCC operation, beneficiary of the scam, Victor Bala was said to have refused signing the delivery note of the stolen cash when requested by Adimbo to cover the record of expenditure.
An Abuja based stalwart of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) from Taraba state, Mathew Danbaki Rafin Kada said, “PDP is still living in the stone age. While Nigeria is aggressively disconnecting from the clutches of bribery and corruption, PDP is still watering the seeds of corruption to flourish. In Taraba state, we are determined to fight it out. We can never allow crooks and rogues to remain at the helm of our state affairs. We need change from the old order. We want to catch-up with other states that have witnessed rapid socio-economic progress. PDP is not the party for progress”
While the Appeal Court is getting ready to deliver judgment, what remains of Taraba State PDP is introducing a brand new plan of scuttling justice by embarking on fresh recruitment of those if need be should be presented to the court as delegates for the PDP gubernatorial primary that claimed to have elected Darius. The game is to replace those constitutionally allowed but were denied the right to exercise their civic responsibility. The latest style is geared to throwing a huge spanner in the wheel of probity and justice, cause confusion that may lead to crisis if not handled with caution in the desperation of Darius to remain the occupant of Jalingo Government House.
