From Bamidele Fasube, Abuja
Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, Prince Arerebo Bodi, on Saturday, asked Tompolo to submit himself to the anti graft agency, the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for questioning.
Bodi said, it was important for the Ex-militant to honour the request of the commission, rather than push blame to the former Governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva and other chieftain of the party.
He spoke at an event organised in his honour in Abuja.
Bodi, who is a member of APC Elders Forum in Bayelsa, added that Sylva was instrumental to the appointment of Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Heneiken Lokpobiri and Special Assistant to the President, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Gen. Paul Boro, thus, he would not lobby for such post as claimed by Tompolo.
He noted that the party was aware on antics of the ex-militant, especially in terms of vandalism with Tompolo’s followers.
“All what Tompolo has been saying about Timipre Sylva and leadership of the APC in Bayelsa state are frauds. The young man need to know properly who Timipre Sylva is and take into cognisance that Sylva is the one God used to make Minister of State for Agriculture and Rural Development, Heneiken Lokpobiri and Special Assistant to the President, Presidential Amnesty Programme, Gen. Paul Boro.
“So for Tompolo to accuse Sylva and APC leaders in the state as orchestrator od pipeline vandalism in Delta is false. And the allegation that Sylva wanted to get Ministerial position from the president and he did not go with him to visit the President and that’s why there is pipe line vandalism, that is also false.
“Tompolo should have a rethink of what he is saying because he cannot confront sylva. I have asked sylva and he said no. We know all the unchallant attitude he is exhibiting. How he is using boys to destroy pipelines and attribute it to other people. So Tompolo should make himself avaialable to the EFCC because when sylva was arrested, he made himself available to the EFCC.
“Let the law take its course, should in case he refuse to submit himself to the commission. If the law says he should be declared wanted, let him be declared wanted,” He said.
Speaking on Deputy National Publicity Secretary of APC, Timi Frank, the party chieftain demanded an apology from Frank to Bayelsa APC.
He said Frank never did anything worthwhile to support the party in the state.
He added that even during the two Governorship primaries, Frank was absent.
However, he noted that Frank should imbibe attitudes that would qualify him as National Scribe of the party, a position previously occupied by the present Minister of Information and Culture, Alh. Lai Mohammed.
His words: “He said he knew Sylva was not a sell able governorship candidate for the Bayelsa poll, and that he is not good enough. Timi Frank should tell us, since he assume the position of assistant national publicity secretary, what role has he played in the party in Bayelsa?
“He has been speaking on reconciliation but what impact has he made? Has he reconciled with Timipre Syla. Timi Frank I know those days was a steward in Bayelsa State government house. So he is no mate to sylva. He should respect age because it is God that gives.
“He was not there in the first primary and second primary.”
On assumption as national publicity secretary of the party, he stated that, “in that area, the party knows best. But anyone that is in national office, representing interest of the party should be number one in its priority. For someone who envisage to be the spokesman of the party and came out condenming governorship candidate of the party, saying he is not a sellable candidate, it is very bad. He does not talk well of the party, even if you have any grudge, with the person concerned, why not try to settle your differences? In the same party, in brotherhood? Then having enemity in the same party? It is very bad. So Timi Frank shoukd have a rethink of so many things he have said. Timi Frank owes the Bayelsa APC a very big apology. He should come down to APC in Bayelsa state and apologise. Otherwise, we know what to do.”
