Abia State Government Condemn the barbaric invasion of Hon Ezuiche Ubani’s residence by men of the DSS.
Abia State Government has frowned at the invasion of the residence of the state commissioner for Works, Hon Eziuche Ubani by a team of men of the army and state security services (SSS), describing it as condemnable, unwarranted and unacceptable.
To that end, it has requested an unreserved apology from the security agencies involved in the act, saying that government feels embarrassed by the action.
Addressing newsmen at the residence of Hon Ubani at Ovom in Obingwa LGA, the commissioner for Information and strategy, comrade Bonnie Iwuoha said the government demands explanation from the security agencies on why they invaded the residence of the commissioner and two-time member of the house of Representatives at the wee hours of the morning.
According to him, Hon Ubani is peace loving and the government feels concerned and embarrassed that this sort of thing is happening to an official of the state government.
The commissioner used the forum to call on those funding disturbances in the state to stop forth with as government will not condone the violence in any guise.
Briefing newsmen on the attack, Hon Ubani explained that his residence was invaded about 2am by a team of men of the SSS and the Nigerian Army who came in 6 Hilux vans, broke his gate and gained entry into his house by climbing the wall and held him hostage for 4 hours.
According to him, the team led by Stephen Agu of the Directorate of State Services (DSS), Abuja said they heard a report from the opposition that he was stock piling arms and training people to assassinate leaders of the All Progressives Grand Alliance APGA.
He said the team thoroughly searched his house including the water tank, broke his ward robe, climbed the ceiling and inflicted injuries on his driver in his boys quarters after which they wrote on a paper that they found nothing incriminating in the house.
The commissioner for Works said that if state institutions will be used to harass innocent Nigerians then he wonders where the country is heading to.
