A corps member serving in Enugu State, Miss Juliet Agunwa has built a six-bedroom lodge for her colleagues serving at Iji Nike Cottage Hospital, Nkanu East Local Government of the state.
Inaugurating the lodge at Iji-Nike on recently, the Traditional Ruler of Nike, Igwe Julius Nnaji commended the corps member for her generosity to the community.
According the royal father, the corps member has distinguished herself by her generosity to the community, the hospital and colleagues.
He urged the state government to reward the corps member for her patriotism to her fatherland.
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Charles Ndukwe urged corps members in the state to emulate Agunwa in her charity work.
Represented by Edwin Eze a director in the ministry, Ndukwe urged serving corps members to write their names in gold as their colleague had done.
“There are three things that make one great in this world and they are writing of books, music and building of a house and of which Agunwa had associated herself with during her service to the nation.

“Books, music and building cannot be forgotten for years and as long as this house keeps existing Agunwa’s name will continue to ring a bell in the state for years to come,” he said.
The NYSC coordinator in the state, Mrs. Nwano Ukagha expressed delight at the gesture of the corps member, calling on serving corps members to be patriotic and dedicated in their service to the nation.
According to her, I am calling on corps members to always think of what to do for their host communities by impacting positively to their lives.
In her response, Agunwa, a graduate of Medical Laboratory Science from Imo State University said that she was posted to the cottage hospital in April 2014 and her first challenge was accommodation.
“In April, 2014 I was posted to Iji Nike Cottage Hospital for my primary assignment and my early challenge was accommodation and that made me sad.
“This made me to operate from my home town, Nachi in Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State for some months before securing a place to lay down my head, and the challenge inspired me to venture into the project”, she said.
