As expected, President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday sacked the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Barr. Bassey Dan Abia.

But to the surprise of many, a non indigene of Akwa Ibom state Ibim Seminitari, who served as commissioner of information in the administration of Rotimi Amaechi, former governor of Rivers state, has been appointed as the acting head of the commission.

Dan Abia, an indigene of Akwa Ibom state, was appointed by former President Goodluck Jonathan in 2013.
As it is the turn of Akwa Ibom State, it is left to be seen why the likes of Nsima Ekere, Umana Umana, JJ Akpanudoedege and Emem Wills or any member of the APC from Akwa Ibom can not be trusted with that position.
