The Federal Government is to spend a sum of N165.3 billion on infrastructure development such as road construction, provision of power including housing.
The 2016 budget of Ministry of Power, Works and Housing revealed it will also expend about N117.1 billion on repairs of major infrastructure including military surveillances and defence barracks.
247ureports gathered that aside from possibilities the not meeting up with full implementation of the budget, the Ministry is said to be owing about contractors about N250 billion.
According to the budget, construction and provision of power will cost N20.6 billion; housing N57.7b; construction of roads N86.6b, construction of railways N256 million amounting to N165.3 billion.
Rehabilitation and repairs of infrastructure would cost N117.1 billion.
Some of the projects to be repaired are embedded in the railway, water, airports, roads etc.
Among the projects are rehabilitation of Lagos-Shagamu Ibadan dual carriage way, sections 1 & 2 for N66 billion; rehabilitation of Third Milan Bridge and underwater works for N34.2 million and repair of Enugu/Port Harcourt dual carriage way sections 1,2,3 & 4 for the sum of N13.2 billion.
