The Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC, says it boycotted a meeting convened by the South East Governors Forum, to find lasting solution to the ongoing pro-Biafra protests in the South East and some states of the South South zones because the governors failed to properly invite Ohanaeze Ndigbo and the leadership of MASSOB and IPOB to the meeting.
National President of the group, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, who spoke to 247ureports.com, called on the federal government to release Nnamdi kanu without further delay and expressed readiness to sign any undertaking on his behalf if the need arises.
He berated the governors accusing them of playing to the gallery over urgent matter by not inviting the pro-Biafra groups who are the main reason for which the meeting was convened.
“We resolved to shun the meeting because the governors failed to recognize that Ohanaeze Ndigbo is not subject to their decision, but they themselves are subject to Ohanaeze’s decision. The governors should understand that the leadership of Ndigbo has not taken any decision on the matter. As the time the governor were engrossed in the so called meeting, Ohanaeze Ndigbo were discussing with the leaders of the pro-Biafra groups. Again, the governors do not even have any link with protesting groups. You are discussing a sensitive issue like Biafra and there is no Ohanaeze Ndigbo, MASSOB, IPOB, South East and South South Professionals. The governors are yet to tell us if they have any agenda on the Biafra issue.”
He warned South East Governors to stop embarrassing Ndigbo with their nonchalant +approach to issues affecting the zone in the country.
