APPLICATION PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTIONS 1 (1) & (2), 2 (2), 3 (2) AND 4 (A) & (B) OF THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT, 2011, FOR ACCESS TO THE ENTIRE FILE AND FOR CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES OF ALL RELEVANT PAGES OF THE ENTIRE INVESTIGATION AND OUTCOME RELATING AND PERTAINING TO THE PETITION DATED 20TH JUNE, 2013, BY ONE MR. RASHEED A. TAIWO, A RETIRED COMPTROLLER OF CUSTOMS, AGAINST MR. DANLADI UMAR, THE CHAIRMAN OF THE
CODE OF CONDUCT TRIBUNAL, ABUJA.
The above subject matter refers.
We are a firm of Solicitors and presently in court on an issue pertaining to the above subject matter. We represent the Registered Trustees of Mission for Peace and Development Initiative, a non governmental body registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission, and Committed, amongst others to holding public officers accountable and responsible to the people of Nigeria.
We hereby apply under the relevant provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, 2011, to be granted access to and obtain certified true copies of all relevant pages of the entire report of the investigation carried out by your organization in relation to, and pertaining to the petition dated 20th June, 2013, by one Mr. Rasheed A. Taiwo, a retired comptroller of customs, against Mr. Danladi Umar, the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Abuja, which was received by your organization on 25th June, 2013. We also demand to know the outcome of the investigation, in certified form straight from the file. Copy of the said petition dated 20th June, 2013, is herewith attached.
The information sought to be granted access to in relation to the subject matter, includes all records, correspondences, documents, investigation, recommendation, conclusion and all other information stored in whatever form, including written, electronic, visual, image, sound, audio recording and the like, obtained by the investigating officers in the course of carrying out investigation, on the petition dated 20th June, 2013, by one Mr. Rasheed A. Taiwo, a retired Comptroller of Customs, against Mr. Danladi Umar, the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Abuja.
We shall be grateful if our humble request to have access to and obtain certified true copies in relation to the above subject matter is granted within seven (7) days of the receipt of this letter, as provided for by Section 4 of the Freedom of Information Act, 2011.
We undertake to bear all incidental expenses in relation to obtaining CTC of the above subject matter.
