The Nigeria Police Force has just launched a newly rebranded Federal SARS.
“The idea of wearing jeans and having head tie has gone,” the IGP said.
The Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase speaking during the launch said it would no longer be business as usual.
His words: “Public opinion showed that the NPF has gallant officers who are ready to withstand crime and willing to lay down their lives for safety of the public.

“Their mode of operation has been a major concern. It is to rebrand their operational services.
“They are the first set of SARS. They will now present a fresh, friendlier operational protocol. In days to come, weapon profile will be revealed especial teazers to reduce use of lethal weapons.”
He expressed optimism that by the end of 12 months, all other members of the force would have undergone similar training.
The IGP emphasised there are administrative window to report any issue to enhance public accountability.
However, he said inability of NPF to embrace Infotech has been a major challenge.
He added that the CCU will serve as central ICT response unit of the force. He said it is designed to complement public complains framework.
He commended the British Government for their support to setup the NPF complains response unit.
