The Economics and Financial Crimes Commission  is set to quiz former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Barrister Michael Aondakaa and erstwhile Chairman of the Commission, Farida Waziri over a missing file involving a former Governor of Benue State, Senator George Akume, our source has disclosed.

The invitation is coming on the heels of efforts to arraign the former Governor of the State, now member of the Senate over some fraudulent transactions involving him and top executives of his cabinet which were disclosed recently by his successor, Gabriel Suswam during his recent visit to the Commission’s headquarters at Abuja.

According to the source who pleaded anonymity, the duo of Aondoakka and Waziri who hail from the same Village in north central Nigeria are surrogates of the former Governor who equally double as their agent while both held sway as Attorney General/Minister of Justice and Chairman, Economics and Financial Crimes Commission respectively.

He further hinted that President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed his dissatisfaction with the EFCC boss over his inability to prefer charges against those indicted in the petition, a situation which has drawn negative comments from well meaning Nigerians to think that the President is embarking on witch hunt of his political foes.

Barring any last minute overture, the former Governor would be arraigned in court during the week as the Commission has assembled a team of good lawyers to ensure his prosecution over the monumental fraud perpetuated during his reign.

Meanwhile the Spokesman of the Commission did not pick his call nor reply series of text message to confirm the involvement of the former minister and erstwhile chief executive of the Commission.
