The conscious and undying efforts of the Ogoni people to keep the memory of their son, and hero, late Ken Saro-Wiwa alive portray the ogonis as a people who know and appreciate the value of courage, selfless love and forthrightness to fight for, and even ready to die for a noble cause for the good of the people.

The Rivers State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah made the remark while speaking at the formal presentation of a book titled ‘The Road To Dukana,’ in memory of the late Ogoni Martyr, and international environmental activist, Ken-Saro Wiwa at the main Auditorium, Ken Saro-Wiwa House, University of Port Harcourt, Friday, November 20, 2015.

Represented by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Needam and his Personal Assistant, Prince Ike Anslem Chukwu, the PDP Chairman said the idea of capturing the life and times of late Ogoni hero in a book through tributes, letters and reflections 20yrs after is well-thought out, a great memorial, and one of the many ways of appreciating and immortalizing the late international environmental activist.

Bro Obuah said the book edited by Bura-Bari Nwilo is a historical record for upcoming generations to know their roots, their ancestors, their efforts and travails to sustain their progeny for their appreciation.
