The rumor of Bauchi governor’s defection to the PDP may come true if the list of those to serve on the state’s executive council and other aides is made public.

A source from Bauchi Government House confirmed to 247ureports that members of the opposition PDP carried the day with its notable members such as Tanko Dutse, Aminu Hammayo,  Sanusi Baban Takko, Abubakar Kari etc featuring.

Tanko Dutse last served the state as Yuguda’s Chief of Staff while Aminu Hammayo was a 2015 PDP gubernatorial aspirant as Abubakar Kari was a onetime Senior Special Assistant (SSA) ICT to governor Yuguda before attempting to contest the 2015 gubernatorial election on the platform of Labour party but allegedly suffered a setback due to paucity of funds from Yuguda who preferred to sponsor M.A Abubakar of the APC and a childhood friend.

The source revealed that unknown to the APC, Yuguda and M.A Abubakar had reached an agreement of sponsorship and Yuguda, as part of the agreement,  master-minded the emergence of Barrister Muhammed Abubakar as APC gubernatorial flag bearer with a promise not to destroy his legacies but M.A Abubakar reneged on the promise even before assuming office on May 29.

“Immediately he was declared winner of the election against Auwal Jatau of the PDP, he started attacking Yuguda as a strategy of stabilization. Yuguda was shocked with the sudden betrayal but kept his cool and still extended financial assistance to the governor-elect through the Bank Account of one Dr. Aliyu Usman Tilde, secretary of the transition committee who is yet to honour his promised of how the ‘token’ amount extended the transition committee was expended”.

247ureports gathered that part of the agreement was later honoured by M.A Abubakar as Yuguda’s former consultant Abdu Sule Katagum was appointed Chief of Staff while Yuguda’s 2007 transition committee chairman and later chairman Bauchi state Local Government Service Commission, Alhaji Ahmed Suleiman, now Emir of Misau was appointed as secretary to the state government.

Other PDP stalwarts now in the APC-led state government, include the Special Adviser (Due Process), Sirajo Dada, Mansur Manu Soro (Special Assistant NGOs) and Farouk Sufi while one Ali Kumo who is alleged to be the connecting rod of the administration hails from Gombe state as well as the Special Advisor (Media & Communications), Yakubu Ibn Muhammed, an indigene of Taraba state.

APC according to the source can only boast of the deputy governor, Engr. Nuhu Gidado and Tahir Ibrahim Tahir who have never been in the PDP all along.

“Governor Abubakar was a PDP card carrying member and not a founding member of the APC. He was smuggled into APC by Turakin Adamawa, Atiku Abubakar to try a luck in the gubernatorial election not that he was a prominent member of the mega-merger such as Yakubu Dogara, Ali Wakili, Ibrahim Lame, Ibrahim Zailani, Maitama Tuga, Garba Gadi, Bala Jibrin, Uba Nana, Shehu Barau Ningi and a host of others”.

With the executive council list being awaited, PDP seem to have taken over the APC government in Bauchi state from its several interactions with governor Abubakar.

A prominent PDP member from Zaki local government, the home of the defeated PDP gubernatorial candidate, Auwal Jatau,  Aliyu Tanko Sakuwa said, “We knew there was a hatchet plan against Auwal. We knew that Yuguda was secretly sponsoring M.A Abubakar of APC. We knew that Yuguda had no plan to shift power from Bauchi south – Bauchi north. Things are now exposing themselves. We shall retaliate in 2019”.
