Mrs. Emily Oyokose, wife of the Chief Security Officer to the Managing Director of Delta State Oil Producing Areas’ Commission (DESOPADEC) was Thursday night kidnapped.
She was kidnapped at her residence in Oghara in place of her husband Daniel Oyokose who was unavailable as at the time the gunmen invaded the house.
According to an eye witness who preferred anonymity, “We the people of Oghara kingdom are shocked at this kidnap of our son. At about9:00pm on Thursday, some unknown gunmen came to ransack Daniel’s residence looking for him; but when they could not find him, they then decided to kidnap the wife”.
However, the Special Assistant on Media to MD, DESOPADEC, Dr. Prince Orhomonokpaye, has condemned the kidnap in it’s entirely, urging the kidnappers to release Mrs Oyokose unconditionally.
Meanwhile, the State Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) DSP Celestina Kalu was yet to take calls as at the time of filing this report but a police source confirmed the kidnap, stating that the police are doing all they could to apprehend the kidnappers and release Mrs Okoyose unconditionally.
He urged all the people of Oghara kingdom to go about their normal duty as the police will continue to protect lives and property of Deltans and Nigerians at large.
