Delta State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has confirmed its readiness to proceed to the Appeal Court sitting in Benin City to challenge the judgment given by the Chairman of the governorship election petition tribunal, Justice Nasiru Gunmi.
State Chairman of the party, Prophet Jones Erue, declared his party’s readiness in Asaba, even as he described the judgment as miscarriage of justice.
He said the party and its candidate, Olorogun Otega Emerhor, would proceed up to the Supreme Court if the need arises to secure justice and deliver the state from the hands of the PDP.
Meanwhile, Emerhor is studying the judgment to enable him respond and make appropriate statement.
Erue also faulted the State House of Assembly tribunal which declared Speaker of the House of Assembly, Monday Igbuya, winner even though his lawyers pleaded for declaration of rerun in some units and wards rather than nullifying the entire election.
He said the two cases would be reviewed by superior courts for the sake of substantial justice.
