The Chief of Air Staff, Air marshal Sadiq Baba Abubakar has reassured that the Military is working assiduously to meet the December deadline to end boko haram insurgency as directed by President Muhammadu Buhari .
Abubakar laid to rest skepticism already expressed in some quarters that the military may not meet the deadline to end the insurgency following recent boko attacks that have left many innocent civilians dead in some parts of the country.
According to the Abubakar, the military has continued to rescue hostages who were ones in the captivity of the boko haram insurgents while communities are also being liberated.
” Base on the successes we are recording, it is obvious that we will meet the December deadline to end boko haram insurgency as directed by the commander -In – Chief, President Muhammadu Buhari “
The Chief of Army Staff who gave the assurance in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital stated that never again will the insurgents take over any part of Nigeria territory noting that the soldiers are well motivated to carry out the task of safeguarding the nation’s territory.
While decorating over 50 Soldiers with their newly promoted rank, the Chief of Air Staff requested them to redidicate themselves to their duty and be rest assured that the welfare would be adequately taken care of.
” I want to reassure you that your welfare is my priority, we will continue to do we can to make sure that you are comfortable while doing your best to defend your father land ” Abubakar said.
