Except miracle happens and the Inspector General of the Nigerian ย Police Force , ย Mr Solomon Arase takes urgent steps, a fatal political clash might ensue in the Senate when the upper Chamber ย reconvenes ย on Tuesday, ย as politicians opposed to Dr.ย Bukola Saraki emergence as Senate President are ready to spend fortune to force him out of the seat.
The division ย in the Senate ย between the Likes Minds and the Unity Forum in the Senate would be made public as the two contending forces are ย ready to demonstrate their faithfulness and loyalty ย in an open rally at the premises of National Assembly.
ย Newspaper reports has revealed ย that next Tuesday has been fixed by the anti Saraki group to storm the National Assembly and make noise to ย force Saraki ย resign as the Senate President.
The anti Saraki group according to credible source ย was being sponsored by Senator Bola Tinubu who has been in fore front of antagonism against him and had publicly declared not to ย accept and recognize ย the ย election of Saraki by the Senators. His underground intention is to install Senators George Akume and his wife Oluremiโ Tinubu as Senate President and Deputy Senate President respectively.
A member of the group who spoke on the condition of anonymity confided in this medium โthat the politician has released a huge sum of money to transport people to the FCT, Abuja for this project and the movement has commenced since Friday, confirming same report in the print media on Saturday.
โAlso Tinubu according to the source, has been mobilizing ย different groups across the country to hold simultaneously press conferences and issue threats calling for resignation of Dr Bukola Saraki as the Senate President.
โHowever, the Advocacy For The Independence of Legislature (AIL), according to their Chairman Dr Hassan Dan Zaria got wind of the development and had moved and vowed to resist any plot by Tinubu ย in the internal affairs of the Senate nay National Assembly.
The Advocacy group, ย hinted that ย arrangement has been concluded to reject and uphold their belief in the independence of the legislature as an arm of government that must operate without ย external interference under whatever guise.
The group maintained ย that the recent action of the Code of Conduct Bureau was triggered ย by Senator Tinubu ย who has infiltrated the Bureau since ย he was arraigned with huge financial inducement. His real intention is to control ย the Senate at all costs , because his nominee Prof Osinbajo is number two in the executive arm, thus the witchunt. The NGO regretted that it took CCBย a ย period of 13 years before ย they could ย come up with these allegations when ย the ย same ย Senate President had in all his Assets Declaration ย been given clean bill of health with acknowledgement letters.
ย In ย the same vein, ย the pro legislative independence groups, who it was gathered had equally ย mobilized it’s supporters across the country to enhance their advocacy ย was also getting ready ย to equally ย storm the National Assembly to ย show their beliefs ย and ย demonstrate their loyalty to the Senators who voluntarily elected Saraki unopposed as ย the President of โthe Senate.
